FlintBoard is a monthly tracker. Drop in your statements, then see your progress and account room.
Can I import my bank CSV?
Yes. Download a CSV from your Canadian bank or brokerage and upload it on the Import page. FlintBoard reads the rows. You review categories, duplicates, and coverage before those numbers count. No bank login, stored encrypted on our server.
Does it track TFSA and RRSP room and FHSA balances?
TFSA and RRSP room, yes. After you import, TFSA room left this year is the annual limit minus deposits FlintBoard finds in your TFSA accounts. RRSP room is an estimate from take-home pay and the RRSP and group RRSP deposits it finds, so it can sit below the room on your notice of assessment. You can add an FHSA and see its balance with your other registered accounts. FlintBoard does not calculate FHSA contribution room.
How are CPP and OAS estimated?
On the FIRE page they are educational estimates from 2026 published amounts, not a Service Canada statement. CPP at 65 uses the average new pension unless you enter your own monthly amount in Settings. You can enter the monthly amount from My Service Canada. OAS uses the published maximum for ages 65 to 74. A CPP claim age from 60 to 70, or an OAS claim age from 65 to 70, changes the monthly amount. This is not pension advice.
Does it connect to my bank?
No. FlintBoard does not connect to your bank. You upload a CSV you already downloaded. No bank login, stored encrypted on our server.
Where is my data stored?
Your accounts and statements are stored on our servers. Money data in the workspace is encrypted at rest, using a key on our host. Someone who controls the live server can still read what the app can read. Sign-in records, the product-update list, shared FIRE snapshots, and feedback stay in separate databases that are not encrypted that way. A backup you download is plaintext JSON. We don't sell your statements or send them to other companies.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. You can delete your workspace from Settings (Delete my data). That removes the workspace database, uploaded statement files tied to it, this account's documents inbox, and share links you published. A backup you download is plaintext JSON. Bug reports and feature requests you already sent stay on file. A product-update email you opted into stays until you unsubscribe. The demo and a read-only share sample cannot be deleted this way.
Does it show Lean, Traditional and Coast FIRE?
Yes. The board shows Lean, Traditional, and Coast FIRE from the household spending in the statements you imported. Lean means spend less. Traditional means keep today's lifestyle. Coast means save enough that growth finishes the job. Each path shows a retirement age. Partner and kids only change the spending comparison.
How is it different from a FIRE spreadsheet?
A spreadsheet is enough when you calculate a FIRE number once and type the balances yourself. FlintBoard updates net worth, TFSA and RRSP room, and Lean, Traditional, and Coast FIRE from the statements you import. See how this compares with a spreadsheet.
What files can I import?
CSV files with date, description and amount (or debit and credit) columns. PDF and OFX aren't supported yet. You upload the file yourself. No bank login, stored encrypted on our server.
Does FlintBoard send my numbers to an AI service?
Not unless you turn that on. Typing a planned cost, and the local estimate from your own tagged history, stay on your workspace and send nothing. Optional AI estimates use your own API key, run from your browser, and send only tags plus the amounts and dates of matching past entries to Anthropic. The key stays in this browser. FlintBoard's server never receives it.
